T8 AMT, Reverse camera

Postby jnmohit » 15 Jun 2016, 14:58

I am planning to book T8 AMT, however I wasn't happy that such a big car has no rear camera. The dealer mentioned that it can be put as add-on.

My questions is :

1) Has anyone got rear camera from Mahindra, if yes, pics and price ?

2) Is it better to go with Mahindra one or buy one online.

Hi Mohit,

Welcome to the TUV community. Mahindra TUV AMT is still under development and one should wait for at least 1 year from now to get a stable version. Please check links below to have overview of problems being faced by existing AMT owners.

Its better to go for T8 MT, as its stable and now has more power or if still you want to buy AMT then I would suggest to take long test drives on highways and city conditions and if it suites you go for it.

Also regarding reverse camera, I would suggest to change the head unit of infotainment system with inbuilt camera and NAV units. There are two kinds of reverse cameras one is hooked to IRVM and other will come with display unit which will be fixed to your dash. In my view both looks odd with existing setup. There are better infotainment systems available which will be replaced by existing ones.

Thanks
VP

Thanks,

The infotainment system you refer is to from Mahindra or external vendor.

It depends on your dealer. Please ask them if they have some options otherwise lot of options available in the market from Blaupunkt and Sony etc.

Buy it from outside and not from mahindra as the quality of display is not very good. I've installed and feel cheated. I would suggest you buy the rear view camera which are in center rear view mirror same as what Hyundai verna has with automatic glare reduction sensor. ..I have verna as well so I can tell you the difference
